RMDA BLENDED ONLINE TEACHER 


The primary responsibilities of the RMDA Blended Online Teacher are: student engagement, instruction, student success, and facilitating post-secondary success.  The RMDA Blended Online Teacher collaborates with other RMDA staff to: support data-based decision-making, promote student achievement, and ensure that each student successfully achieves program goals.  The Blended Online Teacher reports to the RMDA Principal and abides by and supports the vision, mission, values, policies and procedures of RMDA, RMDA’s authorizer (CDBOCES), as well as relevant state policies and regulations.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Report daily to RMDA Education Zone locations, support a homeroom class, teach selected RMDA courses, and meet with students.

  2. Record and analyze daily student activities (e.g., student attendance, grade progress toward course completion, and student engagement data).

  3. Attend daily Student Success Meetings to evaluate individual student success.

  4. Define student issues and analyze solutions using continuous improvement processes during daily Student Success Meetings.

  5. Advocate for student academic success in both RMDA and post-secondary coursework and activities.

  6. Provide daily academic support and interventions as necessary to students as indicated by daily data analysis.

  7. Teach effective study skills while providing tutoring support as needed, collaborating with Academic Specialists for resources.

  8. Ensure that student ICAP’s (Individual Career and Academic Plan) are consistently updated, collaborating with other RMDA staff members when necessary.

  9. Set goals to track graduation and post-secondary progress, collaborating with students, families, RMDA staff members, and a variety of resources to ensure student success.

  10. Support RMDA’s concurrent enrollment, internships, and community involvement programs.

  11. Collaborate with the RMDA leadership staff to support data-based decision-making to promote student achievement and alignment among curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

 

General Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in student recruiting and retention.

  2. Assist in the marketing efforts of the school.

  3. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with students, parents, and RMDA staff to enhance the instructional environment.

  4. Maintain a high level of communication (both verbally and in writing) with other RMDA staff, students, and parents to deliver program information and address individual student needs.

  5. Maintain up-to-date, accurate, effective and efficient record keeping procedures.

  6. Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and community.

  7. Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits, such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others.

  8. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.




Qualifications:  

Education and Training:

  • Bachelors degree required.

  • Dually-licensed or additional NCLB Highly Qualified areas preferred.

  • Trained in a variety of software programs (e.g., data bases, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, data mining software).

 

Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations:

  • Colorado Secondary Teaching License (i.e., Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Special Education) required.

  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.  Must maintain insurance in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and maintain automobile in good working order

 

Skills, Knowledge, & Equipment:

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time-management, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledgeable and comfortable working with technology.  Able to competently and persistently apply problem solving skills towards technology issues.  

  • Well-versed in conflict resolution skills.  Ability to mediate conflicts (e.g., between students, staff, parents, or community members) while promoting the core values of RMDA effectively among all stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel regionally as required.

  • Understands the benefits of continuous learning and takes personal responsibility for professional development.

  • Ethical, honest, and good-humored.

  • Strong work ethic to achieve both school and personal goals.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with regarding to students and families.


Compensation:

Commensurate with education, and experience; computer, and cell phone.

 

Agreement Length:

Full-time; follows a year-round academic calendar.

 

Location:

Within 50 radius of Pueblo or Colorado Springs.
